VIDEO – DRILLING RIG Mi40 FOR WATER WELLS WITH AUTOMATIC ROD HANDLING SYSTEM

Let’s showcase you a remarkable new addition to the Australian drilling landscapeour Massenza Mi40 drilling rig, now on its way to a new Massenza customer in the Aussie vibrant and challenging Northern Territory. This customer is specialized in the following drilling areas: water bore drilling, pump testing, bore rehabilitation, water testing.

This Mi40 rig model is ideal for water wells: with its robust design and its superior technical characteristics, such as its impressive pull-up force and torque, it can efficiently reach significant depths, typically around 800 meters. Furthermore, the Mi40’s exceptional versatility allows it to seamlessly adapt to diverse drilling methodologies, including direct and reverse circulation (using both mud and down-the-hole hammer techniques).

It’s precisely these unparalleled features – from its raw power and depth capability to its adaptable drilling methods – that made the Massenza Mi40 the ideal choice for our customer.

The customer himself, accompanied by our Australian dealer, McCulloch Drilling & Boring, recently made the journey to the Massenza headquarters in Italy. This visit offered them a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the assembly phase of their new rig, mounted onto the truck chassis.

More than just a technical inspection, this experience allowed them to personally connect with the Massenza team, immerse themselves in our company’s operations, and truly grasp the  dedication, expertise, and precision that goes into every single drilling rig we build. We believe that true collaboration begins with a shared understanding and direct engagement, fostering trust and ensuring tailored solutions for our valued customers.

Once it arrives in Australia, this brand-new Massenza Mi40 will begin its journey in the Northern Territory, delivering vital water supply to remote communities, cattle stations, and irrigation bores across the region.

In collaboration with our long-standing dealer, McCullochs Drilling and Boring, we worked closely with the client to develop a custom specification tailored to their needs—specifically for large-diameter waterwell drilling using air.
The rig has also been equipped with auxiliary plumbing, allowing the client to integrate their own mud system or boosters when required. This customer primarily drills for water using air but occasionally needs the flexibility to drill with mud, and this setup ensures they’re well prepared for both.
