VIDEO – Mi4 DRILLING RIG IN ACTION FOR WATER WELLS AND CORE DRILLING
Our Mi4 drilling machine is ideal for use in various fields, such as water wells, geothermal applications, geotechnical and environmental investigations, core drilling and micropiling.
It is characterised by its compactness, small size, and above all, high technical characteristics.
In the video below we will see the Mi4 drilling rig in action on two geotechnical application construction sites: the first for piezometer installation and the second for core drilling.
This is a Mi4 on a crawler with the following features:
- Mast:
Capacity: 5.6 tons
3,7 m (12 ft 1”) rotary head stroke
Pull-up and pull-down max. 52 kN
Up and down speed max. 18 m/min - Massenza Rotary Head:
Maximum torque of 6880 Nm – Maximum speed of 500 Rpm - Double hydraulic clamp:
Maximum passage diameter 280 mm (11’’) - Service winch:
Direct line pull 22 kN (4946 lbf)
Complete with 30 m of steel cable Ø 10 mm (3/8″) - Triplex water/mud pump “200:
Maximum flow 200 l/min (52.8 US Gal)
Maximum pressure 30 Bar (435 PSI)
Challenging an additional customer request: this Massenza Drilling Rigs Mi4 for water wells and coring, has a 1.90 m mast extension, which can be dismantled, to manoeuvre 6 m rods and pipes.
At the end of this video, a unique and special moment is shown: the extraction of the core and the sealing of the extracted material, in order to send it to the laboratory in Milan (Italy) for analysis.
For our customer it was indeed essential to deliver the material intact and not compromised by external agents of any kind.
