Massenza is proud to present the new MI8 with DOUBLE ROTARY HEAD, a fully customize rig. Specially designed to perform geothermal boreholes up to 300 m in Switzerland, it is perfect for all European market.
Mounted on crawler, this MI8 is equipped with a double rotary head in order to drill while casing advancing: the two independent heads separately drive the outer casing and the inner drill string at the same time. This system offers the driller a high level of flexibility and control to deal with varying ground conditions.
The rig is extremely powerful, but Massenza technical department was able to design it with very compact dimensions, impossible to be found on the market. These extraordinary sizes allow operating in restricted locations. Due to its robust engineering and reliability, it is capable of drilling in difficult conditions to depths normally beyond a rig of this size.
Furthermore, this special MI8 is set up with the following components:
Magnetic device for pipes handling
Radio remote control for maximum safety and visibility
Safety cage and emergency buttons for EC regulation
Crane mounted on rig frame for handling the drill pipes, casings and geothermal tubes
- Rotation with direct circulation.
- DTH hammer
